Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL) is an inclusive format of rugby league that provides people with learning disabilities the opportunity to play the sport in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment. It celebrates teamwork, confidence, participation, and personal development, ensuring everyone has the chance to be part of the game.
We were honoured to be invited to the Rugby Super League Magic Weekend on 5th July, where we had the privilege of watching Caitlin and the Widnes Vikings LDRL team showcase their skills during the half-time interval in front of thousands of supporters.
It was an inspiring experience. The confidence, determination, teamwork, and enjoyment shown by every player was fantastic to witness. They represented themselves, their club and the wider LDRL community with immense pride, and it was wonderful to see the recognition and applause they received from such a large crowd.
Supporting local people, local sport and opportunities that make a real difference in our community is something we value highly, and we’re delighted to support Caitlin as she continues her rugby journey.
Well done to Caitlin and everyone involved with the Widnes Vikings LDRL team—you were all outstanding. We can’t wait to cheer you on throughout the rest of the season!
